Foreign sources: which countries and portals we search, currency conversion, an unavailable source

Carnado doesn't search in just one country. The same Octavia or Golf often costs something different in Germany, Austria or Poland, which is why we search foreign marketplaces too. Here is how it works and how to read the results.

Which countries. In the Location part of search you choose from more than twenty European countries. Besides Czechia they are mainly Slovakia, Poland, Germany and Austria, then for example Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal and the Nordic countries. If you choose nothing, we search all of Europe. We add a country to the filter only once we have at least one working source for it, so that we don't offer empty countries.

Which portals. Large classifieds portals, classifieds sites for used cars and the sites of dealer networks. The sources include, for example, Bazoš, Sbazar, TipCars, AAA Auto, Otomoto, OLX, mobile.de, willhaben and Das WeltAuto. The list changes as we add new sources. You see the current overview for your search right in the results under Results by source. We load Sauto.cz through a paid service, which is why it is in the Plus and Dealer plans.

Currency conversion. We convert listings in euros, zlotys, forints and other currencies to the chosen currency at an approximate rate, so they can be compared and sorted by price. The rate is approximate and doesn't follow daily movements. What matters is always the price in the original currency on the seller's page. What an unavailable source means. Under the results you may see a line Unavailable right now with the names of sources. It means that marketplace didn't respond to your search or temporarily turned us away. Its cars are missing from the list, even though it may have some. Try the search again in a moment. The line No results is something else: the source responded, but nothing matches your filters.

Radius search abroad. A radius search works across borders too, but only for listings that state a town or postal code. Some foreign sources give no location, so you don't see their cars in a radius search.

Language of listings. The text of a listing is in the seller's language. Keywords therefore search only what the seller wrote. "Tow bar" finds an English listing, a German one would rather need "Anhängerkupplung".
